With a degree in ceramics from the national college of art and design and having worked for some time as an art director/designer in the film industry, Niamh Barry has a wide skill base to pull from when creating her signature design pieces.

The work often crosses the line from design to sculptural and with the ever present craft based skill acquired through her degree in ceramics, the pieces are always beautifully executed by hand in Niamh’s studio.

The work is made using materials such as glass, steel, bronze and brass, using time honoured techniques to create each piece as a work of art, with the touch of the craftsman evident throughout.

Ofjects of beauty and function, the pieces are developed from observations in nature and from the human form.

The signature pieces can be tailored to fit perfectly within the space they are commissioned for, with options on finished available and can be made  to any scale.

Since 1991 the work has been seen in public and private collections internationally, including London, Moscow, Dublin and New York.
